Running a rescue sanctuary is a labor of love, but it’s also one of the most expensive commitments you can imagine.

Every day, we care for animals who have known hardship, neglect, or abandonment. From feeding, veterinary care, and medications to shelter maintenance, fencing, and enrichment, the costs add up quickly. A single emergency vet visit or unexpected injury can be thousands of dollars. And that’s just the beginning!

Even small improvements, like new fencing or upgraded shelter, can make a world of difference for the safety and happiness of our animals but they come with a price. Every dollar we raise goes directly to the care, comfort, and well-being of our rescued residents.

Operating a sanctuary isn’t just a job, it’s a daily mission to give these incredible animals the life they deserve. And while the costs can be overwhelming, the love, joy, and healing we witness every day make it all worth it.

If you’ve ever considered supporting a rescue, know that your contribution goes straight to creating a safe, nurturing home where these animals can thrive.

Our foundation will always be transparent with where donations are going. Our board members do not receive salaries nor do donation dollars go to paying for vehicles, trailers, power bills, etc.

100% of your donations go to the horses medical care, feed, farrier, property improvements, bail from the kill pens, transport from the kill pens or anything else the horses might need.

Property Entrance Fencing Project

We’re excited to announce that we’ll be fencing the front area of our property! This is an important step in ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of our rescued horses and all the animals who call our sanctuary home.

This new fencing will:
✨ Keep our cherished horses safe while giving them more room to roam
✨ Strengthen security, creating a protected and peaceful environment for all
✨ Help us better manage pastures and provide attentive care for our residents

The front fence will include two secure entrance gates, a top rail pipe fence with a center rail, and four strands of barbed wire for added security.

Every improvement we make is part of our mission to create a safe, nurturing haven where our rescued animals can truly thrive. We’re deeply grateful for our community’s support as we continue to enhance the sanctuary and provide the loving care these animals deserve.

Our First Direct from an Amish Farm Horse Rescue:
A New Beginning for our
Foundation

Today marks a powerful turning point in our rescue journey. We are working on brining home our very first horses directly from an Amish farm in Illinois, an experience we’ll never forget.

Though they are not here yet, their stories have already touched our hearts. These are older, hardworking horses who have spent their lives pulling carriages without complaint. And now, as their strength fades, they face a heartbreaking reality: when they can no longer work, many are sent to auction… and too often, to slaughter.

To us, they are someone, not something.

But to bring them safely home, we need your help.

We Are Fundraising For:

  • Purchase & Release Costs

  • Safe Transport to Our Sanctuary

  • Vet & Rehabilitation Care

We don’t know everything they’ve been through, but we do know this: their hardest days should be behind them, and their healing should begin with us.

To everyone who believes in this mission, thank you. Because of your support, these beautiful souls have a chance at life, love, and dignity. We will finally know their true names and the unique souls they are. For the first time, they’ll be called by name with love, not command. We can’t wait to share who they are with you, not as workhorses, but as individuals with stories, spirits, and identities all their own.

We will be bringing home two Standardbred horses and one Belgian draft, who will soon arrive here in Amarillo to begin their healing. For the first time, we’ll be able to learn their true names—no longer just “the Amish horses,” but cherished individuals with identities and stories all their own.

There is also a foal—injured and unwanted. We don’t know if he was stepped on by his mother or hurt some other way, but because he can never be used for work, he was cast aside. He will not be coming to Amarillo, but he will be safe. Our new board treasurer has opened her heart and home to him in Fredericksburg, Texas, where he will receive the love and care he deserves. We will always know how he is doing, and he will forever remain part of our rescue family.

Stay tuned as we work to bring them home. Their new lives begin the moment we say “You are safe now.”
